DOUBLE POINTS FINISHES IN BARCELONA

Round two of the Formula Regional Championship at the Spanish ”Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya” started on Friday with two practice sessions for our 3 drivers. A big hats of to Adam after coming back from his back injury he sustained just 4 weeks ago!

The drivers showed good pace during the practice sessions with a top-4 laptime for both Santiago and Macéo. It was a bit more difficult session for Adam concidering his injury.

It was a busy day for the team on Saturday with two qualifyings and a race. The drivers were able to show good pace during both qualifying sessions with a top-10 finish in both qualifyings for Santiago (P4 & P3) and Macéo (P8 & P7). Our rookie driver, Adam, strugled a bit more with a P26 and a P31 in Q1 and Q2.

SANTIAGO HAD A GOOD START AND WAS ABLE TO FIGHT FOR P3.

Saturday evening it was time for Race 1 of the weekend. A post Q2 penalty for Santiago meant a P5 starting position instead of P3, but still insight of a podium finish for the race. Santiago had a good start and was able to fight for P3 within the first corners, but unfortunately contact with a other driver pushed him in the gravel. He was able to get out of the gravel, but he had persue in last place. Macéo had a solid start and managed to gain two places. After a laps long battle for P5 he was able to resist the attack and finish in P5. Adam had a consistent race and finished P24, in what was his first race after his injury.

Race 2 on Sunday morning was for the team another chance to grap some points with two drivers starting in the top-8. Overtaking proved to be difficult at the ”Circuit de Barcelona-Montmelo”. Santiago was able to hold off another driver and finish in P4, his best result in FRECA so far. Driving in the same group of drivers during the race was Macéo. He managed to finish in P7, which meant another double points finish for the team.
